So you wanna run a Home based Internet business to supplement your Income and you need a website. Well if you can’t afford the fees of Professional webdesigners like us. This may help you to design one. Below is a checklist of some important things you will need to remember while you are setting up your Web site.

1. Purchase a domain that is catchy and easy to remember. If your company name does not evoke instant recognition, try purchasing a domain name that describes what you do or what you sell. For a sample Domain Name Purchase Agreement, check out the Forms & Agreements Center at ensure.co.in.

2. Find an e-commerce Web hosting package. There are many hosting companies, e.g Sisco webhost that offer Web site packages that are geared toward businesses. These packages often include a shopping cart, mailing list software, and site promotion tools that will allow you to save time and money by having these services at your fingertips ahead of time. all of which you can get when you pick any of our hosting packages.

3. Apply for a merchant account. If you need to sell your items online, you will need to make sure that you have a merchant account. This will allow you to process a variety of different credit cards on your site and may increase your business significantly as opposed to accepting only check or money orders. If you are localizing within your country,e.g Nigeria or local government. Then a bank account may be just what you need for now.

4. Purchase Web site design software. You have enough to do without having to learn HTML to design your site. A WYSIWYG — “What you see is what you get,” pronounced wizzy-wig — software program will allow you to visually put your site together, saving you time and effort. If you are not confident that you can design your own site, you may need to hire a professional designer to take care of this for you. It’s no longer expensive to hire one.

Sick and Came late to work.

I felt sick this morning.had an excruciating Stomach upset and had to lie down for a while. Some drugs, some food and a little rest saw me arriving late today at the office by 2pm. and being the workaholic that I am I wanted to make up for lost time; clients were waiting, Phone calls needed to be answered, missed calls redialed, e-mails sent, info-products typed and money made..Boy! it’s one Hell of an Internet-business here.

Wednesday-

Latey Latey Partner.

My brother and partner, the Cheif programmer/Webdesigner of our little upstart Company came late to work Today. but I wasn’t mad. Nope!because he’s my solid rock and at the same time an Undergraduate and went for an overNight Studying with some friends in preparation for his forthcoming exams. I feel for the poor guy as he looks tired this morning.I have asked him to set up a blog and post all the challenges he faces with combining his acadmics and a fulltime Internet business. “Phew!its not easy” he normally says on days like this.

Even NEPA uses Gen.

I went to Nepa (PHCN) office today to pay the electricity bill for my Home. those guys there need a re-oreintation. Nepa as a whole needs a re-birth, re-babptism, a re-invention and re-imagination. they are dead. They were even using Genrators. and to make matters worse, got to the office and hours later was greeted with the presence of another Nepa official who came wanting to disconnect our light.
Are these people crazy? The whole of Ogunlana drive, Surulere has not seen a flash of light and these guys have the audacity to come demanding for a bill and threatening to cut off the light.I was too disturbed and distant to participate in the discussion that ensued.Thank God it was finally settled amicably…But this has kept me wondering when things will become aright in this country;Niger Delta palava, NEPA is there, Police Corruption, etc. Infact I am wondering. what’s the difference between NEPA and Police? can You tell me…

Nostagic week and promises kept.

Tuesday -

Mischevious Daniel.

Daniel paid me a Surprise visit, Daniel was(and still is) one of my closest pals when we were in LFNAS, (leventis Foundation Nigeria school Of Agriculture) at Ilesha Osun State. He now works in a Microfinance bank (citigroup) in Lagos. His visit brought to mind so many of the memories we had in That one year we spent togetehr at LFNAS, boy! we were really mischevious during those days. i dont even want of go into details. Can you remember any mischeif you did in Boarding School: fence climbing, truancy, beating up teachers or set traps for them , we did similar if not worst, though I was the only holy guy among them. – He gave me a load down of what and where my other friends, particularly my clique, the famous group of 5(Westlifes as we nicknamed ourselves). Boy! sweet re-union!

Promises Kept

I am happy today. we were able to meet a client’s deadline. His 3 websites, (www.youmustberich.com, www.makemoneyjackpot.com, www.internetmoneyisreal.com) were ready as at when due. The client is happy, we are happy. Had to pat myself in the back and went for a treat at Tantalizers.
By the way we ‘ll be training another client next week on how to design stunning websites like those above. He has already made payments and we are looking forward to the training with enthos-in me (enthusiasm).

Rain-drenched Computer!

Tuesday: Mastercard rejected!

I happened upon a killer product; a membership site software I had been looking for a long long time. The price was relatively Cheap and therefore I whipped out my GTB Mastercard in order to buy it. Alas! my mastercard was rejected.

I never dreamed that such will happen to me again since switching from a virtual VISAcard to a mastercard in my own name and billing address.

When will these guys learn that not every Nigerian is dubious and allow , we the genuine Nigerians conduct legitimate business with them.

Wednesday: IP blocked!

And to make matters worse, Today my Ip has just been blocked. I can’t gain access to the site that I saw the offer on the Membership site script anymore as My IP has been blocked. such a Shame!

And to further piss me off, I went down the street just some blocks away from my office to a Cyber cafe. The female attendant doesn’t even know the IP address of the Cafe ( i wonder whether she was Interviewed for the job) and the cafe had such outdated PCs that were dysfunctional. Burnt two good hours and ended up being more frustrated!

men! some Cafe’s don’t need to be in existenceat all at all. I wonder who I should be mad at, The oyibos that blocked My IP and prevented me from getting my product or the F**CKING Cafe.

Thursday: running an Internet Biz on Generator 247.

This country can be hell. For the past two weeks, we have been running our biz on Generator power. Trust NEPA or is it now PHCN. The brand new Gen. we bought this week is already fagging out.

We had to give the guy a little break of 1hour before he collapses like his predecessor.

Oh! How I hate to take a break from work.

Friday:Drenched In rain!

Wow! today was great. Acheived most of my set goals for the week. bieng working allmost round the clock to fulfill a client’s deadline. now Its done. But we closed late, Around 8:05 pm Today and that got us caught in the rain. men I have never seen the rain fall this heavy for a long time in Lagos. we were drenched to the skin.

My Laptop bag was soaked, My flash Drive hung around my neck was drenched, My shoes were filled with water. Everywhere and everything was wet. And Had to wait at  the Bus shelter for over 2 hours before the rain subsided. We were lucky to get a cab home as  most of them heading to our destination had already gone to bed. I am very grateful to Baba (Bale) our cab driver.

Moral of this story; always close from work early, no matter the deadline.

looking ahead to a glorious week….
